Tengoku, Japanese food in Southern Spain.

Japanese food has always been one of my favourite cuisines. In Malaysia Japanese restaurants are everywhere, they usually have great selections of sushi, rolls, bento set etc.  There is a lot of competition and with 10 pounds you will get to eat a good bento set.

Whereas in Gibraltar and the nearby places in Andalusia, there aren't many good Japanese restaurant. Tengoku in Sotogrande is the only one that my Asian friends and I go most frequently. I believe the restaurant is run by Filipino, you will not see any Japanese in the restaurant, there used to be a Chinese chef who worked there and he enjoyed chatting with us in Mandarin.

Since we are not in Asia, we can't really complain much about the menu selections and price,  we are just happy to be able to get some Japanese food!  We usually spend 35 to 50 Euros per person depending on the quantity of food that we order.

Last Friday my friend and I were back to Tengoku, we ordered the usual stuff and spent just under 70 Euros.  The only complaint to the food this time was the salmon skin was not crispy as usual.

At the entrance there is a small working area for the chef.
