Puratapa, excellent modern Spanish tapas.

My weekend started with great food at Puratapa in Torreguardiaro.  I have been to the restaurant for many occassions and I enjoyed all the time.  Puratapa serves modern and inventive tapas with execellent taste and good presentation.  The decoration is modern and the menu is written on the wall.  The restaurant gets very busy on weekends, it is always packed even we arrived not long after they opened at 8pm.

Two of us ordered 10 tapas, 2 tapas were new to us which I was quite dissapointed with, will definately not order them again.  But still it will not affect my impression on Puratapa as they still have many other fantastic food.

Arroyo Hondo, dining in the mountains.

This was my second time back to Arroyo Hondo, the first time was probably on a depressing winter night, and this time was on a nice summer sunday afternoon.

After approximately an hour's drive (can't remember how long we stuck at the border queue), Princess Jian, Princess Jones and I arrived at the restaurant which is in the middle of mountains of Costa del Sol.  It was a sunny afternoon and the terrace was packed with customers.  Three of us were not keen on sunday roast, we ordered from the daily menu instead.  Overall food was fresh and good except I was a little bit dissapointed with my steak, still prefer steak from Patagonia.

La Finca for Madam Kam's birthday on 15th Jun 2013

Finally started my first food blog!

It was Madam Kam's birthday on last Saturday, we celebrated her big day at La Finca Thai Fusion restaurant next to Alcadesa.  It was good food, good fun and good company.

Starters of the day, I can't recall the name, on the left was baby gem with desiccated coconut, lemon grass and tamarind juice, it was quite refreshing.  The other one was dim sum lookalike, not very Thai to me, but can't complain when it is hard to find freshly made dim sum around here.

Glass noodles spring rolls, it was ok nothing special.

Tender wild boar curry.

Pataya fish, I liked the chili and garlic sauce with
herbs, not too spicy.

Green curry with beef, I am not a fan of green curry, it was good according to the others.

Duck with tamarind juice, although I took the picture but I didn't get to eat it, it was at the other side of the table and I completely forgot about it, it must be good as there was no leftover!

Duck curry, good combination with rice.

Pad Thai, one of my favourite dishes at La Finca.  12 Euros for a Pad Thai is a bit expensive, but you get what you pay for.
