KonFusion, new fusion restaurant on the seafront at Sabinillas.

Yesterday 4 of us went to KonFusion restaurant at Sabinillas for Jolanta's birthday.  The restaurant is on the seafront, having lots of competitions from many other restaurants.  While most of the restaurants had many customers on this Friday night, the newly opened KonFusion only had two tables of customers.

Other than using Asian ingredients in the cooking, the owner also made effort to decorate the place with pictures of people and scenes in Asia.  They also used some Chinese ceramics and banana leaves for food presentation.

4 of us ordered almost the same food, for starter we ordered 2 dumpling soups and 2 prawn with avocado and tortilla chips, for main course we ordered 3 grilled salmon with pak choi and a sirloin steak with teriyaki sauce.

The conclusion was the food was not bad, but not special, they need to come up with more creative dishes with good combination of west and east taste.

The pictures add some Asian feel to the restaurant.

There are about 4 tables insides the restaurant, there are also seating outside of the restaurant facing the sea.

Complementary starter, tempura prawn with teriyaki sauce.

Avocado mixed with tomatoes, coriander and parsley, served with pan fried prawn and tortilla chips.  I quite liked this dish.

Dumpling (Wanton) soup.  The dumplings were good, it would be even better if they used less pepper in the soup.

Grilled salmon with pak choi, not bad but Jian said she can cook even better than this.

My sirloin steak with teriyaki sauce.  Good quality of meat but it was too salty, I do eat quite salty, but it was way too salty for me to finish it.

We ordered one apple pie to share, surprisingly it was the best dish of the day.
